Following a quick Stockholm guide with the must-see events and exhibitions around town. Welcome to Stockholm!

THE ART SCENE

Bergman à la mode
Ingmar Bergman is a well noted film director from Sweden and is often recognized as one of the most influential filmmakers of all time. In light of his 100 anniversary Hallwylska museum is exhibiting a selection of the costumes from his works from the late 19th to early 20th century. An inspiring exhibition featuring unique pieces with a fashion legacy to enjoy between the shows at Grand Hôtel.

Annika Ekdahl’s Woven Imagery at Waldemars Udde
Get to know the Swedish textile artist Annika Ekdahl with this retrospective exhibition showing her works throughout the years. With contemporary stories told through old tapestry technics she brings a part of medieval history back to life. The beautiful surroundings of Waldemars Udde, located next to Djurgården will make your visit more than worth it.

Trend report Nordiska Muséet
After a week full of impressions it might sound like a good idea to sit down and digest it all, preferably companioned by fashion experts. On Wednesday January 24, 18.00 Nordiska Muséet invites to a Fashion Week Stockholm AW18 after talk. The evening is hosted by Senior Curator Helen Perrson together with stylist Marina Kereklidou and fashion journalist Daniel Björk. Don’t miss out!

War and Fashion at Kulturhuset. Who was Lee Miller?
Lee Miller is known for her fashion photography and for her extraordinary war photography during the second world war. But who was she as a person? Find out through the exhibition War and Fashion (Krig och Mode) curated by her son Anthony Penrose at Gallery 3, Kulturhuset. The exhibition consists of a hidden photo treasure found in an attic, and many of the pictures has never been showed before. You will be able to explore new and hidden sides of the famous photographer.

THE FOOD AND THE PARTIES

Taverna Brillo
Enjoy both great food and art at the same time. Taverna Brillo, in the heart of central Stockholm, close to Grand Hotel also offers a great enviroment for celebrity spotting while eating and drinking. In January, you will also be able to have a look at Marcel Strüwer’s collage artwork with the exhibition Fasaden utåt (the facade on the outside) at Taverna Brillo Marknad.

Lydmar Hotel
The best bar to go celebrity spotting in between fashion shows. Mostly because it’s so close by to the official arena, but also since the view over the Stockholm harbor and the castle is to die for.

Spybar
If you’re wondering we’re all the fashion people will be stacked up when the official Fashion Week afterparty is drawing to a close, look no further. Most likely they will be heading to one of Stockholm’s most famous clubs – Spybar. Make sure to be there early and you might even get in before them.

Grand Hôtel
Last but not least, the main arena partner Grand Hôtel is the go to place for dinner and drinks. Cadierbaren is the natural meeting point for Fashion Week visitors and legendary michelin star granted Mathias Dahlgren’s Matbaren will save you when feeling hungry between the shows. See you there!
