Not only is fashion Sweden’s fastest growing export industry. Fashion is also Sweden’s strong- est cultural force promoting our design aesthetics and values across the globe. It is therefore an honour that the Minister for Culture and Democracy, Alice Bah Kuhnke, inaugurates this season’s Fashion Week in Stockholm.
During three consecutive days, Sweden’s most prominent designers and fashion brands will present their AW16 collections at the official arenas, Berns Salonger and Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, and around central Stockholm. Whyred, a true pioneer in contemporary Swedish fashion design, opens the week with their womenswear collection and newcomer DRKN, under the creative leadership of Erik Bjerkesjö, will close the week with a laser-beamed extravaganza. We are proud to support Ida Klamborn’s Democratic Front Row, which will be the first ever to incorporate interactive live-streamed virtual reality where thousands of fans will get a front row experience at Fashion Week from wherever they are.
Your guide to this season is our new and improved site fashionweek.se. Here you will find show and event schedules and frequent news updates.
With the combined efforts of our amazing sponsors, suppliers and partners, Fashion Week this season represents what Swedish fashion design is all about – rather than interpreting the past for the present we are designing in the present for the future.
Welcome to Fashion Week in Stockholm!
