Describe your design in three words.
“Fun, light and colorful.”
What’s your style philosophy?
“I would love to see people in Scandinavia dress more like they do in southern Europe. To have a more personal style, dare to wear something different and dress up more often! So my style philosophy would be something that way.”
Is there a symbol that would represent you?
“Not really, but I like the Vespa on top of our logo, it represents that we are always trying to head and look forward.”
Where did the initial concept for your brand come from?
“The goal with By Malina was to introduce fashion that we thought was missing in Sweden. In the beginning it was long, custom-made dresses in silk that the brand got famous for. However, today you can find a lot more in the collection. By Malina has everything from shorts to leather jackets. We use materials like silk, French lace, silk chiffon, leather and linen.”
What’s your label’s signature pieces?
“Our printed maxi dresses.”
Going forward, what direction will the brand take?
“The next step is to introduce the brand to the girls in USA.”
Who are your style icons?
“I love Rosie Huntingtons look, she’s always stylish. And Nicole Richie because she wears loads of colorful maxi dresses.”
Who would you invite to your dream dinner party?
“Obama, Angelina Jolie & Diane von Furstenberg world be a super trio!”
Who would play you in the film of your life?
“I like Rachel McAdams or maybe Cameron Diaz, since she laughs allot!”
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
“I always wanted to do something creative. But I didn’t know what until I started to work with production and found it really interesting and challenging.”
