ABOUT THE COLLECTION
LAZOSCHMIDL AW 2019 “PLANET SEX”
Thunder without rain. The air sweltry, sticky, salty. Stranded. Their first encounter in the midst of the midnight desert disrupts an orgy of thewy men, yet they are invited to join. Later, a woman with three breasts, dressed only in a mesh of what appears to be diamond necklaces, invites them for dinner. Back in their tents, inquisitorial humans prepare for the diplomats reception with the promiscuous alien race, bulging with stamina and erotic excitement.
Unknown director: “Again!”
Unknown assistant: “They hardly wear any clothes!”
Woman with three breasts: “It’s called method acting, darling.”
The collection cites a fictitious sci-fi B-movie novel and follows the adventures of an unforeseen sexpedition. Garments feature slinky chiffon, satin plissé, hand-beaded crystal mesh and signature lurex jacquards. While phallic symbolism is translated as patches on retro-futurist uniforms, reworked animal prints provoke a feeling of existentialism. The season also marks the 2nd edition of the LAZOSCHMIDL Intimates underwear line. Unknown assistant: “Planet Sex?“ Woman with three breasts: “It’s just a destination.”

ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Awkward silence. A mattress in the centre of the room. They are holding hands, their gaze fixated on small island-like foam structures on the bathroom floor. Wet footprints lead towards the bedroom where shadows of half-closed curtains cover their skin. They kiss. The world spins. The room, filled with lustful thoughts, crawls upon them.
„I am your body.“
The collection is a response to the adolescent reading of Roald Dahl and Franz Kafka. Painted interiors of Henri Matisse, Ken Price and David Hockney are reworked as lurex jacquards and printed organza. Capturing the romantic tie between artist and muse, selected garments feature unpublished photographic work by filmmaker and underground director Bruce LaBruce.

LAZOSCHMIDL AW18 “ANGEL”
An idol on rehab. Dressed in faux fur and briefs, playing a distressed version of pop culture and self. Remembering discarded belief systems, destroyed stage outfits and a lost identity. Despair.
Clothes as documents of an intense yet distant fantasy. Fame and amour-propre as false memories. Erection as resurrection. Love as pain relief. LAZOSCHMIDL Fall/Winter 2018 presents garments for an imaginary boy band.
