FWSS aw 2016 COLLECTION
Winter Spring Summer presents a collection for the fall season that seemingly accelerates the brand’s key driving forces of innovation and experimentation. ‘What continues to interest me is producing clothes that feel truly modern,’ says creative director and founding partner Nina Granerød.
The personality of a radical thinker is present in the collection. A woman who concerns herself with the arts, her choices are some-times eccentric. She is an intellectual individual with refined sensi-bilities.
‘I had an image of exactly how this woman would dress so that she would be noticed,’ says Granerød. ‘She is understated, yet very much understands the power of dressing.’
Working with specially developed fabrics – including crushed velvet, lace and corduroy – Fall Winter Spring Summer offers a rich mix of striking pieces and staples to update your wardrobe. The lines between decade references are blurred. While the past is referenced, nothing has been interpreted literally. The collection largely reflects Scandinavian modernism, with Norwegian mid-century modernist architecture being a key inspiration, yet placed in a new context it brings a fresh perspective to the very term.
Fall Winter Spring Summer’s (FWSS) raison d’être is meeting the modern woman’s need for everyday, high-quality, tailored pieces that help build a timeless wardrobe; combining high-end qualities with accessible prices.
The label’s DNA stems from a contemporary, no fuss Scandinavian aesthetic that equally balances femininity and masculinity.
Creative Director and founding partner — Nina Granerød, BA (Hons.), Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design — creates four collections each year that are true to the label’s eclectic, yet timeless aesthetic.
‘My woman values elegance, practicality and decisive cuts, combined with high-quality materials’.
